15-yea- old Sihwan Kim of Korea won the U.S. Junior Amateur at the famed Olympic Club in San Francisco. He defeated David Chung in match play, 1 up. Tiger still has the record for being the youngest winner of the event -- he was 22 days younger than Kim when he won. Of course, Michelle Wie is still younger than Kim. Now that's youth.

However, you should note that Wie did not participate in the US Girls Junior. She was over in France playing in the Evian Masters. Wie has also never won the US Girls Junior. Maybe there is something to learning how to win before attempting to go "big time"??

Well if Wie had played the U.S. Junior Amateur, there's no guarantee that she'd win that. Could you imagine what that would have done to her image / confidence?
I agree with you Maverick. Granted Wie is a very good player, but there is something about winning and knowing and believing you can win.
I believe that Tiger has lost a bit of that belief. He used to answer questions with "I didn't have my A game", but he still knew that it was good enough to win. Now he says, "I'm close", which deep down means that he is not anywhere near comfortable with what he is bringing to the table.
Anna was supposed to be the next Tennis phenom, but she just ended up being a nice poster child. Not to say Wie won't have her day, I still believe that she is missing out in having that confidence in yourself that you are going to win!
Fair enough: Michelle did seem unnerved (and in tears crying on her mon's shoulder) after losing to another young upstart in the final round of the U.S. Women's Public Links Championship. In the end, though, I think she's got too much talent. The wins will come.
