Ernie Els, who played horribly at the NEC, appears to be demoralized from losing all 4 majors this year. My advice: get over it, and move on.

Here is just another way of looking at it:
The following are the top finishers at the PGA Championship that was played in muggy, difficult conditions the week before the NEC: Singh, Dimarco, Leonard, Els, Riley, McGinley, Choi, Mickelson, Allenby, Crane, Scott, Ames. The only ones that finished in the top half of the field were Dimarco, Ames, and Allenby, but both Dimarco and Ames had their worst rounds on Sunday at the NEC, and took themselves out of contention. As for Allenby, his only top 10s before these tournaments were in the U.S. open and the Honda, and has moved himself to 43rd on the money list and hopes to break the top 30 before the Tour Championship. My point being: maybe those players that finished well at the PGA Championship were content to take any easy in the NEC because it did not have a cut and they would get a decent paycheck playing halfheartedly. Maybe Els is not happy with not squeaking out a win in one of the majors, but I hardly think he is demoralized with his play this season sitting third on the money list (behind two major winners), and being one of two guys likely to be newly crowned #1 in the world by the time the season is over.
