enough is enough
I've seen enough...2 days of stellar play from Sergio, Paddy, Luke Donald, Darren Clarke, Monty, Lee Westwood, the list of names can go on. With Europe now leading 11-5 (and needing only 3 more points), one thing is pretty clear to me: the Europeans excel in the Ryder Cup team format. They are the favorites and should be the favorites every single Ryder Cup until the U.S. can prove otherwise. The Euros have a number of "go to" guys, who almost assuredly will win points. Sergio Garcia's record is something like 8-0-1 lifetime. The guy just thrives in this format, so too Monty, Paddy, and the others mentioned above. Even the Ryder Cup rookies Paul Casey and David Howell came up big, playing together in their first match to beat Furyk and Campbell by winning the last 2 holes.
And, for whatever reason, the "top guns" for the Americans don't excel at this format. Over the past two days, here's their record: Tiger (1-4), Phil (1-2), Davis (1-4), Jim Furyk (0-4). Hal Sutton will be forever second-guessed about his pairings. But let's be honest, the pairings of the Americans would have done little to change the overall score. The "go to" guys of the Europeans can play with anyone. The Americans don't have any "go to" guys anymore, at least not in the Ryder Cup.

Bring back Corey Pavin, we need the bulldog!
They should change the U.S. point system to qualify, so that they get more people who are playing well during the same year of the Ryder Cup, not 2 years before.
People like Todd Hamilton and John Daly played well this year and probably could have played better than Kenny Perry and Fred Funk.
I absolutely agree with changing how qualifying is set up for the Ryder Cup. Not sure how to change the point system, so I suggest the two following changes. First, if you win a major the year of the Cup, you're in. A bulldog like Hamilton would have excelled this week and the kid's obviously got some big-time golf in him this year. And second, captain's picks need to give the team the best chance to win, not to reward older players that happen to have a decent season. Give me Leonard over Haas and Jerry Kelley over Stewart Cink. Leonard barely missed making the team by losing the playoff at the PGA and Funk backs his way onto the team after missing the cut at the PGA. Makes no sense! Who played better that week? Leonard. And anyone remember Brookline? Disgusts me. Also, Kelley is made for the Ryder Cup. The team could have used his enthusiasm and brashness in the pairings during the first 2 days.
OK I'm done, and for another 2 years, so are the Americans....
What a winning team! The europeans i mean. For the 2 coming years we are the better golfers! see ya
