5 Long Years...

Today marks the anniversary of Payne Stewart's passing. I still remember hearing about this on the 14th hole of a college golf tournament that I played in. It made me stop and remember how prescious life actually is and how unimportant it was that I had bogied the last 3 holes.

ernie, sergio win

Ernie Els won his 3d straight HSBC Match Play Championship, defeating Lee Westwood. Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia won the Mallorca Classic in Spain by 4 shots.

This year's been a great year for golf, filled with lots of drama. With Tiger away on his honeymoon, though, the burning question for next year: will Tiger be back with his A game? Time will tell.

The PGA Tour has rights to Real Time Scoring

The Supreme Court decided not to hear a case which allows the PGA Tour to hold the rights of real-time scoring at its events.

For a couple law folk like the posters at thegolfblog.com, this is a pretty cool development.

ernie wins amex, pushes tiger down to No. 3

Ernie Els held off Thomas Bjorn to win the Amex on a rainy day in Ireland. The win for Els catapulted him to No. 2 in the world rankings. Tiger finished 9th in the tournament.
