Long John Daly, not long enough to drive Niagara

While opening up a course he helped to design, Thundering Waters Golf Club near Niagara Falls, John Daly made 20 attempts to drive from the Canadian side to the U.S. side of Niagara Falls. Apparently, he came up short, but his longest drive came close, hitting the wall on the U.S. side. Full story here.

A couple of years ago he did the same thing, trying to drive it over a river...310 yards carry, plus a 30 foot high retaining wall. First shot hit the wall, then he drove five balls over the wall. He admits in the latest interview he can not drive the ball as far as he used to. Another funny story is when he attended a Peter Jacobsen media event, and Peter imitated him, ythen asked him to wow the audience. John turned towards the stands 50 yards from him, but probably 30 feet high and deep, and drove a ball over their heads. Peter said it was the craziest thing he'd ever seen.
