The best thing that could happen to the LPGA in terms of increasing its future marketing power and overall viewership for the next 3 years is:
A. Michelle Wie dominating
B. Paula Creamer dominating
C. Natalie Gulbis dominating
D. Morgan Pressel dominating
E. Annika dominating
F. No one dominating, but all 5 winning big tourneys
G. Jean Van de Velde winning the Women's British Open

It is obvious what makes everything so exciting. People always struggling to the last second to get first. If all these players were equal in ability and it came to the last hole on most tourneys, that would bring huge watchers.
The question is what will increase the marketing power of the LPGA over the next three years. The answer is really quite basic and simple (and sexist). As long as the pretty women on Tour dominate and more pretty women turn pro, the marketing power will increase. If Annika had Gulbis' looks, she be ten times as big as she is now. I know some of you will respond, but truth is truth. Men watch sports, women typically don't. What appeals to men? Sexy or pretty female atheletes. Otherwise men don't watch and there is no one to market to.
First off, the moment they allow a man to compete in an LPGA event, the LPGA is over.
Second, I have to agree that the marketing of the look of LPGA players would have the greatest impact on the tour in future years. The same has been done on the women's tennis circuit, and appears to have made it more press friendly than the men's tennis circuit. Also, this isn't solely a sexist argument, since it is the same for the men's side. For players that are not successful (remember the annoying "Bads" commenrcial, they use the players' ability to attract female fans by looks in commercials...and commercials are a strong driving force in sports. Even for players that are successful, looks are promoted (you think Tiger always had those caps on his teeth?). But since this wasn't a choice, I can't make that my choice.
So, lastly, we've seen that Annika's domination on the tour has been constantly overshadowed by wins by the younger players, especially Ms. Wie. The week Wie was DQed from a tournament, it overshadowed on every sports article the fact that Annika destroyed the field. Thus, I would have to say that Wie dominating the tour would draw the most marketing power for the LPGA.
Power Fade seems pretty on target. (1) Domination by 1 person draws the most "buzz," ala Tiger. (2) Whoever dominates has to have some flash, more so than Annika. (3) Sex appeal would help, too, as well as emotion. That Sharapova woman on the tennis circuit throws in numerous fist pumps. Wie or the others need to do that occasionally. (4) Wie, given her length and age, commands the most buzz right now. (5) If Natalie started rattling off wins, she would be just as big a marketing tool for the LPGA.
I am kind of curious what "win" by a younger player, especially Ms. Wie overshadowed Annika this year. The biggest stories of the year were Wie being DQ'd, Wie going pro, Wie posting an 82 in the 4th round of the US Open, Wie not making the cut @ the JDC and Sony, Wie not winning the Pub Links and of course Annika's run at the Grand Slam.
I sure do not see any younger player wins, especially from Ms. Wie in that list.

As a response to AndrewsDad, he is correct that I misspoke when I said,"we've seen that Annika's domination on the tour has been constantly overshadowed by wins by the younger players, especially Ms. Wie." Instead of saying wins, I just should have said "the events related to". Granted, I still think that when Creamer won, she received far more press than when Annika did. And the point I tried to make poorly, Wie overshadowed Annika's wins with events related to her presence. Imagine if she won. The press would be all over her. And if they were not, Nike would make sure that they were the next time.
The fact that Natalie Gulbis is getting a reality show should pretty much proves my point. Where is the Annika reality show? The Laura Davies Show? The Julie Inkster Show?
I will agree that some sort of personality must also exist. I think Morgan Pressel is VERY needed. That girl hates to lose and hates hearing about Wie.

Just like everybody wanted to beat Tyson from Holyfield to Lewis, and some did; but it did make for great ratings; same goes for Courier; Hingis and all the other individual sports.

Jean did not win any men's tourneys until the Madeira this past weekend, and he did it by having a 3-stroke lead going into 18 because he knew his signature score on an 18 when he is leading...Double-B.
What other signature does he want to have as a golfer? Double-B on 18 wearing a kilt and losing to Michelle? LOL
