Coody... Best 2nd Round??

While looking at the early 2nd round scores at the Masters, I was drawn to the man at the bottom. The only player to not beat, my man, David Duval, Charles Coody.

Coody, who won the 1971 Masters over a Johnny Miller and some guy named Jack, shot his career worst round at Augusta National yesterday carding an 89. However, through 10 holes today, the 68 year old, Coody is at even par.

If he stays at even for the day, could that round be "better" than any other round in the tournament? Come on, this guy is 68 years old!

Anyways, at least he is putting pressure on the guys at the bottom in the race for DFL (Dead F'in Last).

I am watching results from the Masters on Friday. DD was 7 over after 2 holes! He is 1 under through the next 10 with a birdie on 12. I don't care how he finishes. This is the epitome of a competitor. As long as David Duval wants to play I will be cheering for him. People who don't play the game do not understand the guts this guy has.

not only did coody play great with a 74 - but he beat out Augusta native, member and a guy who has played over 160 rounds there - Charles Howell III (very dissapointing for this young gun!) - go Freddie!!!!!!

I agree with hopebro, Duval is out there competing and you have to give him credit and when he is on his game he is just as good as the other Big 5...there is not a doubt he has the talent he has proven that before with his years on the tour....he just has to get his mind right and get back to the player he was...I hope he does it, he was one of the guys I liked to watch every week and it would be great if he could turn it all around.....Go Freddie, Go Rich Beem...How about Ben Crenshaw showing up to play this weekend...I think that is awesome....

Spinmansucks...huh, nice name, real original...didn't realize that rooting for the underdogs, rooting for the players that have not had real success the past couple of years, rooting for the players that are great stories for the Masters...Ben Crenshaw who has not made a cut in 10 years, Rich Beem who has struggled the past couple of years...Freddie Couples who is 46 years old and still playing well....I didn't realize that all those stories were a race issue....are you frigging kidding me...making this into a racial issue....SpinmanSucks has too much time on his hands and must really like controversy if he thinks me rooting for those guys is about "the white guys sticking together"...Should I be rooting for Tiger, would that make it O.K....I am rooting for Tiger, I always do, not because he is the minority, but because he is the best player in the world...should I root for Vijay...everyone is picking him to win...give me a break....

One thing I am glad about....I can create enough of a stir that someone has to come up with the name Spinman sucks....can't wait to see what he comes up with next....it was the race card this time...who knows what's next
