Ron Sirak on possible "division" at LPGA
Ron Sirak has this excellent article chronicling the turmoil and possible infighting that has beset the LPGA. Thirteen staffers have left the LPGA since new commissioner Carolyn Bivens has assumed her position. "We have all worked very hard the last few years to build the LPGA into the wonderful product we have today," said Annika Sorenstam. "I am quite concerned about some of the decisions and changes I have seen lately. I just wonder where we are headed." Read this story for more.

It sounds like the new commissioner's greed and the presence of her husband is alienating the staff, players, and tournament owners. The LPGA should hire Deb Richard as Commissioner and hire Dave Pelz to teach Michelle Wie how to chip and putt before she becomes another Anna Kournikova. How can you be second in the world never winning a tournament?
It's the Commish's job to make money for the LPGA. So I can't blame her for that. I don't know enough about all the departures to comment on them. The number of departures does seem striking.
