What happened to Paula Creamer?

Tom Spousta discusses in this article Paula Creamer's "sophomore slump" and the growing demands on her time outside of golf.

Snippet: "While Creamer has faltered, a talented group of young South Korean players has won eight of 15 tournaments this season. Veterans Juli Inkster and Cristie Kerr are the only Americans to win. Creamer's swing includes a powerful dip down and through her shot. But she has struggled with her swing adjustments as she tries to slow down her hip rotation and get more in sync with her arms. Still, 'at the moment she's hitting it better than she was last year,' says David Whelan, her coach."

This is what "learning how to win" gets you. More expectations and pressure. For all those people who criticize Michelle Wie for not learning how to win, well, here's a good example of how things can turn really sour very quickly in golf.

Exactly. where are all of those "learning how to win" apologists now? we haven't heard a peep out of them.

Creamer has still WON on the LPGA Tour (and before that, too). Michelle Wie has yet to do so.

Tiger takes a year or two for swing changes to take effect. Creamer can't get as much time?

What happened? Golf happened. Paula is a proven winner. I wouldn't worry about her.

No Michelle hasn't won yet. I expect at the end of her career, though, she will have 4 times as many LPGA victories as Paula.

Not sure how the "learning how to win" argument comes into play at all here.

Just to be clear, the "Michelle Wie needs to learn how to win" comments are because clearly, clearly, she is one of the top handful of female players on the planet, nobody should dispute that. I would easily put her in the top 5, probably top 3, but in the last 3+ years now, she is winless. She is on something like a 0-30 streak and that includes US Junior AM and Womens AMs. In my opinion she has more talent than any player on the LPGA tour and yet she seems to make a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Some here have called it choking, I have not. I think she is simply not comfortable being in contention on the back 9 on a Sunday and the reason that is the case is because she has not experienced it very often. Her last win was the 2003 Womens Pub Links a little over 3 years ago. Contrary to what most believe, that is her most prestigious win and lets be honest, in the list of prestigious golf events, Pub Links do not rate all that high because they exclude those players who play at country clubs. I believe it is also her only win outside of local Hawaii events. See this web page for a complete list:
http://www.808golf.com/michellewie/mw_aw-accomp.htm

Now as I have stated a number of times, I feel her priority has never been to win as many tournaments as possible but rather to take a path that emphasizes marketing and endorsements first and golf wins 2nd. That is why instead of focusing solely on the last women’s major, she played a draining 36 hole qualifier on the Monday of that same week for the US Open where chances were she would not qualify, she had almost no chance of making the cut and zero chance of winning. If I was a fan of celebrity bank balances, I would be fine with that but I am a golf fan and therefore I would rather see golf at the highest level than golf that produces the most endorsement dollars.

But for those who feel she did not need to learn how to win, the argument is fairly moot now since she turned pro and no longer has the chance to play AM events, how is it that she is good enough to almost make PGA cuts on more than one occasion, finish in the top 5 on a regular basis in Women’s majors, is ranked #2 in the Rolex rankings and yet has zero wins in the last 3 years?
