Wie makes a move, will Annika and Paula keep up?

At the women's second major of the year, Michelle Wie has made a big move in her second round. On a day in which morning scores are mostly above par, Michele posted a four under 68 to vault into the top 10 at -5 for the tournament.

Annika Sorenstam and Paula Creamer, both of whom have had relatively slow starts this year, play their second rounds this afternoon. Here's the leaderboard.

UPDATE: Another close but no cigar for Michelle at the LPGA Championship. Also, another event in which the ladies provided more drama and excitement than the men do lately.

Wow, Michelle tried...but she really choked. I'm not PC about these things. She blew it. Great tourney, though, loved watching it right down to the last miracle shot!!! Wow!!!

And what about Phil and Tiger? http://www.royalbull.net poses an interesting question: are they ready?

Never thought women's golf would be more interesting than the men. Wie is awesome. Watched her last 12 holes. She missed 3 greens from the middle of the fairway with a wedge in her hands. Ouch. Could have 4 putted 18 for the win if she had hit those straight. I guess her critics would prefer that she spent the week winning some junior golf tournament by 25 strokes.

16 years old and has played in 10 LPGA majors...with several top 10s.
Funny how everyone throws out the Earl Woods train of thought and suggests she should stay amateur, or focus on only one tour. I think she is doing just fine.
