Women's match play finale
I was hoping for a final in the HSBC Women's World Match Play Championship with young guns Paula Creamer and Lorena Ochoa. Creamer and Ochoa will play against each other this afternoon, but in the consolation match, because Juli Inkster knocked out the Creamer 5 & 4, and Brittany Lincicome rallied to beat Lorena Ochoa in 19 holes.
My money is on Inkster, though a win by Lincicome might vault her into the upper echelon of women's golf.

The thing about Lincicome is that her game is suited for match play--she can bang it a long ways. So even if she beats Inkster, I doubt if it launches her into the top ten LGPA players. She still lacks the overall game for medal play. Still, she's only 20, so I'm sure she will get better.
I was disappointed that Channel 2
downplayed Lincicome's victory after Wie and Sorenstam were defeated. Channel 2 wanted a Wie-Sorenstam finale. TV ratings would have been much higher if Wie and Sorenstam played in the finals on Sunday. It was refreshing to see another young girl win a tournament, especially since she came up the blue collar way and has her Dad as her caddie. No endorsements yet but she's on her way to stardom !!
