A bad omen for the US Ryder Cup team?

As detailed in this article, the all-powerful Tiger Woods got beaten badly by Shaun Micheel in the firsat round of the HSBC World Match Play Championship. And Jim Furyk got overwhelmed in his match with Robert Karlsson of Sweden, who will be playing for the Euros.

Is this an ominous sign, or just a blip?

I seem to recall that Michelle Wie beat Shaun Micheel in a tournament before. Does that make her better than Tiger?

Looks like fellow temamates at the Lumber are also heading along the same lines. As I write Campbell (T108), Wetterich (T95) and DiMarco(T81) are really imposing themselves on a sub-standard field
Oh and Harrington's four shots clear in Europe
The good news is Micheel is thrashing Donald

I was shocked that Goosen took such a thrashing. By Paul Casey, a strong European Tour contender, but hardly a blip on the PGA Tour. Not sure if the top guys get a bonus for attending this event, but they sure don't seem to have their heart into winning.
I can say that ticket sales were strong, so at least the tournament got their money back for whatever they gave those guys to attend.

Maybe if the US team went with Gorilla Grip tape from StukOnTapes, www.stukontapes.com they would have a better chance against the Euros. It's simply the best grip tape ever devised by man with its superior gripping power and conformability. Wonder if Tiger is aware of it's amazing properties?
