Michelle Wie back with the men

Michelle Wie is currently in 75th place out of 140 plus men in the field at the 84 Lumber Classic in Pennsylvania, won last year by the ever popular Jason Gore. OK, so that's only after 4 holes, and she just had her first bogey of the day.

Follow Wie's progress here.

Three over? (At 2 pm in CA) Sooooo frustrating. I really desperately want her to win. Or stop playing competatively for a couple years. But despite what many folks seem to think, if she is going to play I think that she's taking generally the right approach. It's only a matter of time before she wins.

What I mean is that I think much of her development as a golfer won't happen on the golf course. How different are we between 16 years old and 18 years old? Between 18 and 22, regardless of what we do?

She shot a birdie free 77, though still did better than two major winners (Todd Hamilton + John Daly). But it looks like another short week for her.

This is ridiculous. If she makes a cut, so f-ing what? This is not at all about golf, but about a cute 16-year-old pursuing her self-centered fantasy. What irritates me most is the press and $$$ she's getting. What a spoiled, elitist sport!!! I think this taints the game, I'm sorry. If she had dominated the LPGA and sought higher ground to conquer, fine... but Wie has done zero, zip, nada. Sorry, but this is revolting.

Did you see her comment, "It's not frustrasting cause I'm a girl."

Yea, Michelle you are and you've played like one every time you've tried to make a Men's tournament!

Does anybody care anymore?

I am one of her biggest fans...but it is enough already for now.

I think she is clearly tired...and her European trips are costing her.

The best news is I predicted it 5 months ago!.

Until recently, I thought all that counts in golf is winning. Second place in LPGA tournaments, not making the cut, making the cut or beating a few men in PGA tournaments, is totally irrelevent. Why does the press focus so much on this? Why does mediocrity count so much for this one individual; but not for anybody else? What is their utter fasination with this? I simply don't understand nor do I care. I suspect more and more people are feeling this way; but sportwriters are simply not getting it. Are they stupid or just plain ignorant? Maybe that's the answer.
