Karrie Webb beats Annika -- Is Karrie the Player of the Year?
Karrie Webb chased down and then passed Annika Sorenstam with a final round 66 to win her 5th tournament of the year at the Mizuno Classic. Although Webb still trails Lorena Ochoa in the money list, Webb has one major victory this year (while Lorena has none). Does this victory clinch Webb's selection as Player of the Year, or should both Webb and Ochoa share that honor?

If I had a vote, Webb is POY over Ochoa with Sorenstam a very close 3rd, because of the win in the major and getting into a playoff in the other major. The LPGA POY award is points based so whatever the points say goes and I am not sure where Ochoa and Webb stand as of right now.
One correction, Webb did not chase down Sorenstam, she had a one stroke lead over her going into the final round and was never behind during the final round.
I'd think any conversation on the subject would have to include Wie.
^^^I agree with the above, but I guess there are a lot of things to consider. There are a lot of female player who are up their, but I'm guessing it's the player who managed to stay the most consistent will get the award... and I'm not sure if that is Webb.
