Michelle, who? -- 16 year old Tad Fujikawa, from Hawaii, makes cut at Sony

Hawaii's best teenage golfer appears not to be Michelle Wie. It's 5'1", 135 pound, Tad Fujikawa. Tad qualified for the U.S. Open last year; Michelle didn't. And, today, Tad just made the cut at the Sony Open. Tad just sunk an eagle putt on 18, to go -3,, shooting a 66. Tad gave a huge Tiger fist pump after he sunk his eagle putt. Amazing! (Michelle Wie is at +13.) Tad is the youngest player in 50 years to make a cut at a PGA event. Go Tad!

At 10:43 AM, Anonymous said...: Go Tad indeed! I seem to remember that Michelle actually beat him at the local US Open qualifier by like one stroke last year. He went on to compete at the Hawaii sectional (against maybe a half dozen people) and won that, while Michelle chose another one and obviously didn't make it.

Michelle Wie is no longer a "child prodigy" she is becoming an embarrassment to the sport of golf. She needs to get the hell out of the PGA before she causes real golf fans to get fed up and stop watching (since it appears everyone has stopped caring). She is hurting both the PGA and LPGA tour in a futile attempt to have a miracle round one say so she can make the cut.... But why? A golf tournament ends on Sunday, and Hell will freeze over before Michelle Wie ever wins a PGA tournament.

All that being said, waita go lil' Fujikawa!!!!
at 16 yrs, 4 days old your still young enough to have a growth spurt and be able to kick some butt on the PGA tour!
