Square drivers -- will you try one?

The "square" driver is the latest trend in drivers, at least for Calloway and Nike. The shape is distinctive, but a little jarring for golf purists. If you've tried one out, let us know what you think.

I have been using the Sumo since Dec. and I LOVE IT! I went from hitting 65% of the fairways to only missing 1 in 5 rounds...

The FT-i is also a really good driver, but I like my Sumo better. It's just deadly accurate.

I had a chance to test the Callaway Fti two weeks ago. It wasn't a revelation. I produced better, longer and more accurate shots that day with an old Callaway Big Bertha II.

I didn't hit one, but I saw one at Dicks over the weekend, the head on that thing looked massive...probably 1-1/2 times as large as a normal head?

I think they will come and go .... just a fad. I will probably hit one just to say I tried it. Maybe I will be suprised by the performance.

I'm more interested in the new triangular Titleist driver.

Golf Galaxy down the road has the Callaway OptiFit Driver System and I'm chomping at the bit for a try with their new FT-5. Supposed to be available sometime this month.

Better a square driver than a square head.

I hit one ball with the Sumo2 and boy was it LOUD. I have no idea how well it hits, but it will definitely make some ears ring. It's pretty bizarre, really.

NO!!!! Save your money, these new drivers don't offer anything better than any other 460cc driver or any oversize driver for that matter with .830 COR. Take it from a golf pro, spend the money on putters and wedges!!! They'll save you more shots.
