Fan "injures" John Daly
A resident with a house on the PGA National complex was so excited to see John Daly on the 12th tee that she took out her camera and snapped a photo. Daly heard the camera snapping and stopped his swing in mid-swing. In the process, Daly hurt his rib. He tried to tee off but the pain was too much, so he walked off the course to the medical trailer, telling his playing partners: "I'm done." Daly had only played 2 holes.
It's not clear what penalty will be imposed on the unidentified woman. She probably won't lose her house in PGA National, but maybe she should perform community service by having to pick up trash at the tournament.

Another bizarre occurence for JD. I'm trying to picture him stopping that massive swing and it's painful to think about.
Unbelievable... I guess the fans make the game, but still, there should be some respect. Unbelievable.

It's not stopping the massive swing, it's stopping the massive body behind the swing that did in JD. Every thing fat grew around muscles and bones that have remained the same mass for years. Shed a 'few' pounds JD.

I don't think the PGA can make the woman pick up trash. They are just a sporting organization, not a law enforcement agency. Best they can and should do is make the woman leave the event.
since she's a member of the golf course resort, they probably can impose some penalty on her. there's probably some clause in the residential contract about abiding by the tournament rules. I doubt it can be picking up trash, but maybe they can ask her to pay Daly's medical bills.
If this had happened to Tiger, the woman probably would have been arrested by now.

I might be wrong, but as a profesional golfer shouldnt you be ready for these type of things? I am pretty sure Tiger wouldn't stop the swing by a camera sound. Hes focused on his swing.
To Basherbaker69 & Filipe... Tiger has been distracted by photographers and managed to stop his swing in the past... He's even gone over to yell at fans with such disrespect... It is equivalent to someone getting in your face while you're making an important business presentation, or similar function. If you play the game you will understand that any distraction during your swing is very likely to cause a problem.
I have to agree with the last comment. So what if John Daly is fat? That woman had no right to snap a photo in his back swing. Even fat people have rights.

John Daly is fan favorite with his monster drives and friendly manner around golf fans. I know someone who has self destructive behavior like Daly from years of alcohol abuse. The man needs get sober, lose weight, call Butch Harmon back an tell him your straight and ready to win. If not JD's life may end tragically.
