Not to be outdone... Wie withdraws as well...
Michelle Wie has withdrawn from the Ginn Tribute after playing 16 holes. She must have heard that blaming a wrist is the new "hip" thing (See Phil's WD today from the Memorial). However, as noted in this ESPN.com article, she might have withdrawn because she was 14 over thru 16 and nontour players are banned from further LPGA competition for the year if they shoot 88 or more.

I once did the 'noble thing' and withdrew but a couple months later it was deemed too late.
Wrist injury or not, golf is now her business. She made a good business decision for both herself and her sponsors. It is all about the bigger picture.

Thanks for being a Wie apologist, Nolan. Let's see; in danger of shooting 88 and being banned for the year...wrist fine in weeks leading up to event...comment that it "no doubt" would be ok by next week...hmmmmm...yeah, it's legit alright!!
