Whose 2007 future looks better: Sergio Garcia or Sean O'Hair?
Sergio Garcia shot 66 on Sunday -- wow, that's almost never happened before. If he hadn't put his approach shot on the last hole into the water the day before on Saturday, he would've tied Phil Mickelson on Sunday.
Sean O'Hair, meanwhile, played near flawless, conservative golf, until he went for broke on the 17th island hole. Unfortunately, he came up wet.
So whose future looks better for this year, right now? Sergio or Sean?

I think Sean O'Hair is going to benefit from his experience at The Players, but as for immediate success, I think Sergio has more up-side. The guy's game is definitely improving, and I think that his run at The Open at Hoylake last summer, and his great final round at The Players, are indicative that Sergio is about to break through soon. I used to despise the guy, but he's won my reluctant admiration for the way he plays. He's probably the best overall driver of the ball in the game, and if his putting improves at all, he's going to be a great player. It looks like he's getting his game into shape, so I say look out for him at Carnoustie in July.
I think both have a pretty good-looking 2007 future. I'd still like to see Sergio put together a solid 72 holes of golf, but think he's more than capable of doing it. Besides, he's the best dressed golfer out there, by far, and that should count for something!
Sergio's attempts at fashion normally make me want to puke.
Sean is a much more put together player. He is not selfish and has a good bound/support system with his father-in-law/caddie. It was great to see him play so well and be so composed under the pressure.
Also, Sean didn't choke. He was aggresive and tried to go after a win. Granted it cost him 750K but very noble. As he matures he will gather more knowledge and composure. Sergio is to self absorbed to know the difference.
Sean is a better polished golfer.
Sergio is more creative.
I would lean to the grinder than the flamboyant.
BTW, 2nd was the best Sean could have gotten with his mistakes on the previous 16 holes. Take your lumps and go home. He went for broke in the wrong situation. His "caddie" was not a good support group for that situation.
Phil was on his game and even Tiger could not have beat him Sunday.
"Phil was on his game and even Tiger could not have beat him Sunday". Dumb comment. What does that mean anyway? Makes no sense. Joe Blow could have beaten Phil if he'd have done one thing - shot a lower score.
I would like to see Sergio win a Major this year. O'Hair is a good player and I would say more consistent over 72 holes but I think it is only a matter of time before Sergio is picking up one of the big ones.
I think Sean's swing will last longer and he appears to be a better putter than Sergio. Sergio has so much talent except with the short stick... and when you don't have the best stuff with the short stick... you get the shaft instead.
