That's a wise, although very obvious, choice she's made. I'm sure she would have flirted with 100.
The AP report you link to on ESPN's site claims that when Wie withdrew from last year's John Deere event, "She opened with a 77 last year, then withdrew midway through the second round with what was said to be heat exhaustion. Wie was taken from the course on a stretcher."
On a stretcher? Really? I watched that entire chain of events and I definitely did not see a stretcher. At some point she rode a golf cart, and she walked to the ambulance. Where are they getting this stretcher B.S.?
No, there was a stetcher to put her in the ambulance:

If that link doesn't work,it's at http://qconline.com/archives/

Finally, something that really is good for golf.
Thank goodness.

Woo hoo!!!
boo ya!!!!
hopefully bj will withdraw from her golf "team"
she should also fire david leadmonger - he is a lame ass money grubbing good for nothing limey bastard - and his hat is the goofiest look in all of golfdom
Yes, once she got to the ambulance, she was placed on a stretcher, which is SOP for anyone being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The story is making it sound as if she collapsed on the golf course, was placed on a stretcher at that point, then taken to the ambulance that way.
That's definitely not what happened. She got to the ambulance by sitting on a golf cart and then walking to it.
Recovering from a wrist injury doesn't take that long, especially for teenagers. Usually they don't even need kinesitherapy.
I think that what she needs is a good manager and a good coach.
Too bad what a waisted talent. Maybe she needs to fix her mentality that everything is owed to her and that it's never her fault if things go bad.
I agree with the last commenter (just before this one). She could be the best women's golfer that ever lived, if she could just get the right direction.
ok people, i'm taking a pol.
who will drop her first?
nike
sony or
the william morris agent?
I say the agent is first because she has become unsellable.
She needs to receive some "tough love" from "the ambassador of quawn", Mr. Jerry Mcguire.....
If golf was 100% physical then I would agree that she could be the best female golfer ever but golf is not 100% physical as we are all painfully aware.
To be the best ever, you need to win and M.W. has gone a full 4 YEARS since her last win and that includes women's am, girls junior am and at least 30 LPGA events. She does not have that killer winning instinct and that is not something you can teach.
Do I think eventually she will win a lot of tournaments, yes. Would I bet money on her to make a 4 foot putt to win a major? Not a chance.
Anon taking the pol(l): You didn't list the most probable, BJ. But from your list, I say the agent
Wie can't win with the gals Let alone compete with the men. A 5 handicap male could beat her.
To John Deere Classic: if you need someone, such as Michelle Wie, who has not accomplished anything in her entire golfing career, to attract people to watch and attend your tournament, you really need to evaluate how unimportant your event must be in the golf world.
