Tiger Woods visits New York on Tuesday for a whirlwind media tour to promote his new EA Sports video game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008, and to plug the Deutsche Bank Championship. The world’s top-ranked golfer will join Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas, to ring the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Woods is also scheduled to appear on the Today Show, MTV, ESPN and The Golf Channel.

Woods returns to competition on Friday, when he begins defense of his title in the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event of the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoff series. The tournament will be held at the Tournament Players Club Boston in Norton, Mass.

“I’m looking forward to playing again,” said Woods. “I needed a short break to rest and spend time with my family and I’m ready to go.”

Woods will play with Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh on Friday and Saturday.
