Tiger Woods in driver seat at Buick Invitational

Less than 2 rounds, that's all it took for Tiger Woods to pull ahead at the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines (the site of this year's US Open). Tiger is now at -11, with the nearest competitor back at -8. This season can be pretty scary. Tiger might be more dominant than ever.

The real scary thing is, he's probably looking at this as a rehearsal for the U.S. Open! I think the rest of the field is fighting for 2nd place and it's only Friday...

That kind of insight makes Nick Faldo, Dottie Pepper and Johnny Miller sound like Darrell Waltrip. "Gee, Tiger score low today and yesterday." Thanks.

Is Phil the biggest joke in golf? He's had 7 years notice to get fit if he wanted to hang with Woods and he's heftier then ever. How can anyone call him an "athlete"?

Golf is a game of skill, not athletics. John Daly won the British in 1995 and the PGA in 1991. 1982 Master's Champion Craig Stadler and Tim Herron are also great golfers that are not slim or "in shape" but are able to compete professionally because golf is not an athletic competition. Lefty could put on twenty more pounds and still be bette than 75% of the pgatour.
