The captains have been selected. Corey Pavin for the U.S., and now Colin Montgomerie for the Euros. Both were stellar Ryder Cup players. Montgomerie ranks second only to Nick Faldo in total Ryder Cup points. Monty was quick to point out his record against Pavin: “I’ve played Corey Pavin in the Ryder Cup on three occasions, and coming out on top twice.

Excellent choice for the Euros. I’m a little bit surprised Monty, who will be 47 in 2010, wouldn’t want to try playing one last time. Monty is kind of a monster in Ryder Cup play, something he hasn’t been able to attain in the majors. More.
