The Golf Blog says: Greg Norman, the winner of 2 major championships (and several near misses or collapses at majors), is now getting married for the 3rd time–this time, a long time friend, Kirsten Kutner. As former wife Chris Evert quipped, Greg likes to “work fast.” Indeed, he does.

Meanwhile, at the media day at the Shark Shootout, Norman commented about Tiger Woods’ fall from grace and lack of dominance in a rather lengthy interview.

Here’s the key part in which Norman casts doubt on Tiger’s likelihood of beating Jack Nicklaus’s 18 majors:

GREG NORMAN: “I think he still has a chance to catch Jack. I think the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer, though. Like I said, the younger players are getting better and better and he’s not as intimidating on the golf course as much anymore, and he’s not winning. So winning breeds success and confidence. As he goes into Augusta next year, if he hasn’t won a golf tournament, that’s going to be nearly a year and a half maybe. That’s going to be really tough on him, because now you start doubting yourself and you think, `OK, when will I ever win again?‘ And then you’ve got to think about winning majors to break Jack’s record. He’s a good enough player to do it, there’s no question about it. It’s just that as more time goes on, those chances start to dwindle more and more.”

THE GOLF BLOG: Hogwash. As we’ve explained already, Tiger Woods is still ahead of Jack’s pace. Tiger had a similar drought in not winning a major in close to 3 years (after firing Butch Harmon), and then Tiger rattled off 6 more majors. Norman’s analysis is not based on any statistics, as far as we can tell.
