The Golf Blog: Rory McIlroy set to win 1st major at age 22 after setting US Open 54-hole record at -14
The Golf Blog says: Give credit to Rory McIlroy from bouncing back from his final round 80 at the Masters (blowing his huge lead) by devouring Congressional CC at the U.S. Open. Rory shot a 3-under 68 today, but it was his worst round so far after shooting 65 and 66 in the first two rounds. YE Yang is the closest competitor, 8 strokes behind at 6-under.
As we called it on Twitter yesterday after the second round, the U.S. Open is over. We don’t see another final round 80 in Rory’s future. Rory is about to make a huge statement tomorrow. Everyone should take not, especially Tiger Woods. More on that later.
