Hello Michelle… Here Comes Morgan
In the 4th largest victory in the history of the US Women’s Amateur, Morgan Pressel only needed 28 holes to defeat Maru Martinez to win. (Espn.com coverage here.) Pressel, the #1 ranked Woman amateur in the world, is expected to turn pro at the end of the year instead of attending Duke University. (In her post round interview, she plans to play in a few events including the Jr. Solheim Cup and then enter Q-school in September.)
Pressel was -8 thru 28 holes and was no match for Martinez.
I will go out on a limb and state that Pressel will be better than Wie in 5, 10, 20 years from now. There is so much bad blood between them, that it will MAKE women’s golf.
