Wells Fargo bank acquired Wachovia, which hosted the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte. Wells Fargo has received $25 billion in bailout money from the U.S. government.

Now, Wells Fargo wants to drop its name from the tournament and stop all entertainment events, given the negative publicity Northern Trust bank received from receiving bailout money and hosting a golf tournament. The tourney will be called the Quail Hollow Championship for the golf course where it is played. (More)
