The Golf Blog says from thegolfblog.com: The Golf Blog has made its selection for 2010 Player of the Year. This year, it’s easy: Graeme McDowell, or “GMac” as he’s known to friends.

McDowell was the golfer who had the most significant impact on the golf course. McDowell won his first major, the U.S. Open, at Pebble Beach, beating both Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson on Sunday in the back nine. McDowell also anchored the European Ryder Cup team, defeating Hunter Mahan in the final match. He also won the Andalucia Valderrama Masters on the European Tour. Last but not least, GMac beat Tiger Woods, head to head in the final pairing at Tiger’s own tournament this past month, with GMac making 3 huge putts on the final 3 holes, the last in a playoff. GMac pulled a Tiger on Tiger! That’s never been done before.

Way to go, GMac!
