Danny Green is Done...

The comments of Danny Green, which have created a bit of buzz on thegolfblog.com, unfortunately were not backed up. Green today lost to Roger Welch 2 and 1.

Oh well Danny, maybe next time.

Wie is onto round 2.

I feel bad for Will Claxton, who lost his match to Wie on the 18th hole. I am sure that his buddies are never going to let him hear the end of the fact that he got "beat by a girl." Especially a 15 year-old.

Sorry Will...

Hockersmith, whose eyes remain open when he sleeps, said he's looking at the match as an opportunity.

``This would be great to beat her, to give me some confidence,'' the Ball State junior said.

He's done, too.

Hello, Sirs,

I have long enjoyed your blog. Please considering linking to my humorous golf blog, "A good life spoiled," at http://theduffer.blogspot.com.

Didn't some idiot comment regarding Wie not belonging at the John Deere, and then say he'd eat crow if she did well in the Publinx? Well Sir...do you want it fried or broiled?
Ahhh....the Open. Only 2 things will get me up at 3AM to watch TV. And one of them would get me divorced.
It will be impressive to see Jack at St. Andrews. Good finish for him, and he is going out in style(as some have not, playing for 20 years too long). Wonder who will shoot better, he or Duval? Oddsmakers choose Duval, but seeing him at the John Deere, I wouldn't be so sure.
One funny update...there has been a flurry of betting in London on Tiger to win the last 24 hours. So much so, that at one point, odds were down to 2:1 and lower. Haven't seen that since 2000. All hail Tiger, but I'd happily take someone who can control it off the tee lately.
And I hate to say it, since one of my foursome is English, and we have a bitter cross-pond rivalry on the course, but England has a good chance of bringing home their jug. Westwoood, Poulter, and Casey are strong, but at St. Andrews, length is never a necessity, and Donald in person is one of the most consistantly straight drivers of the ball I've ever seen in person. He may not be long, but I'd throw a few Jack bills his direction for the odds.
And how about the stories shaping up for the B.C Open? Oh...there aren't any? Oh well.
