Is Natalie ready to break through and win?

Though she has already made nearly $2 million on tour and had her own reality show, Natalie Gulbis still is yet to win an LPGA event. But, going into Saturday's final round of the 2006 Fields Open in Hawaii, Nat is only two shots back in second place at -11 (leaderboard here) and "badly wants to get her first tour victory" (AP story here).

And, just to add to the fun, Michelle Wie and Morgan Pressel, both tied for ninth at -7, are going to be playing together in Saturday's final round. To quote Cosmo Kramer: "C-C-C-Cat Fight!"

The Golf Channel has all the action starting at 6:30pm on Saturday.

The final leaderboard reminds me of the new Rolex rankings. Wie is 3rd, Ochoa is a few places behind her, and the are a bunch of names of players I've never heard of.
Actually, kidding aside, the top 20 on the leaderboard has a lot of names that have been in the news...looks like it was a good tournament to watch (if you enjoy watching women's golf...which is a whole other discussion that has been put to rest...right?)

I heard Brian Hewitt on the Golf Channel the other night state he had never heard of the 4th ranked player on the Rolex list. How can that be? Made me feel a lot better about my Women's golf knowledge.

I have the final round Tivo'd. Have not watched it yet except for Wie's final hole. Was really glad to see she did not finish with a bogey to miss the playoff although I am not sure that last putt was her best effort.

Was routing for Natalie. Too bad. I hope she pulls one out this season.

But did anyone see the post round interview with Pressel? Yikes! It made me cringe. I don't see how she has the emotional maturity to compete on tour.

I was crushed when Michelle showed how she'll dominate me for the next 20 years. It was very embarassing! Boo hoo hoo....

NOT THAT I NOTICED...

Is it just me? It certainly appears to this trained eye that the Natalie that I saw on TV this weekend is not the same Natalie of 2005: http://nataliegulbis.ewestpost.com/

Hey, I have seen her calendar, too.

What a rack! Best $$ can buy?
