Pray for a Sabbatini - Tiger pairing on Saturday

Not too long ago, Rory Sabbatini declared that he "wants Tiger" and thinks Tiger "is more beatable than ever." Well, today, Rory is tied for the lead at -3, while Tiger is at -2, at the Bridgestone Invitational.

Pray that they both end up in the same pairing this weekend. That would be fantastic. You know Tiger would be so jacked for that.

Poor Tiger. Hard to get pumped up every week when your only competition is Jack's career numbers. Sad that he only has a hobo like Sabatinni for motivation.

Everybody ridiculed that statement, and it's unusual to hear golfers talk that way, but I think Sabbatini was right. Tiger isn't as far ahead of his competition as he was in 2000. Just because Sabbatini himself hasn't backed up the statement by beating Tiger, doesn't mean much. This year has to have shown that there are a lot of guys who can beat Tiger at the right time.

While I do not disagree and I also like to hear others have confidence that Tiger is not unbeatable, the fact remains that Tiger is 10.02 points ahead of the number 2 player in the world, 18.96 to 8.94. Which means that every one of us posting here is fewer points behind the #2 player in the world, Jim Furyk, than Furyk is behind Tiger.

That'd be sweet to see Tiger and Rory paired together. Could make quite a pair.

I would like to see somebody, anybody, challange Woods, an actual rivalry if that can happen, on a regular basis. But I don't think it will happen. And a big reason I think that is beacause Woods plays the bare minimum of tournaments on the Tour. The other thing I'd like to see happen is less hype of Woods. I think his aloofness and constant request for "our (his fans) respect for his privacy" has been played out to the point where he is saying to his fans "screw you". In a wierd sort of way, he's a John Daly who always makes the cut. I don't necessarily hope he doesn't win 19 majors, I just don't care anymore.

Rory / Tiger for Sunday.

John Savage is right. 0 for 3 in majors this year, after having a chance to win every Sunday.

There won't be a consistent challenger for Tiger. But he has to beat a much much deeper field every time than Jack ever saw.

I'd love it if he went back to winning by 15, but that won't happen.

It must be divine that Tiger and Rory are paired together tomorrow. Be nice to see some friendly trash talking. I won't have any pity for Rory if he gets it handed to him tomorrow by Tiger.

IF he gets it handed to him tomorrow? I predict a "Sorry Rory" headline in the making by the turn. Tiger wants to take this guy's lunch money.

As much as I'd love to see Tiger stomp to victory, the way he has failed to put tournaments away this year leads me to think that Rory (and others) have a great chance).

Tiger just doesn't have the focus / killer instinct...

GREAT comments here...anyone tuned in today to see that Tiger already has a FOUR shot lead through 6 holes? Ha ha haaaaaa....!

Oh...and I may point out that it's due to FOUR birdies...not the failings of others.

bogey free round. So much for not having the killer instinct.
