The Open Championship has announced pairings. Some notables:

1. The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) pairing: Jack Nicklaus, Luke Donald, both endorsed by RBS, and Tom Watson
2. All-world pairing: Retief Goosen, Todd Hamilton, Lee Westwood
3. Near major winner pairing: Stewart Cink, Thomas Levet, Peter Lonard
4. All-world pairing 2: Tiger Woods, Jose Maria Olazabal, Robert Allenby
5. Single major winners, plus Monty: Colin Montgomerie, David Toms, Paul Lawrie

6. All-world pairing 3: Adam Scott, Bernhard Langer, Scott Verplank
7. Chia-pet pairing: Patrik Sjoland, Danny Chia, Sean O’Hair
8. 1-syllable name pairing: Els, Clarke, Funk
9. Swashbucklers pairing: Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, Trevor Immelman
10. All-world pairing 4: Chris DiMarco, Nick Price, Padraig Harrington

11. Hard workers pairing: Vijay Singh, Shigeki Maruyama, Jim Furyk
12. All-world pairing 5: John Daly, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Stuart Appleby
13. Forget the Ryder Cup pairing: Sergio Garcia, Tom Lehman, Paul McGinley
