PGA Championship: Final Round Fury

Unfortunately for me, I’ll be at work. But for those of you students or people who do not have to work today, I’m extremely jealous. Today at 10am EST, the final round of the PGA Championship will be completed.

Phil is at 4 under and has about a 5 footer to save par on #14. Knowing Phil, he probably did not sleep well or if he did he probably dreamt about making 5 footers all night. Nevertheless he has 17 and 18 left and a 1 stroke lead, so he is in the driver’s seat.

Steve Elkington, who dressed like he was going to a post round party, is 1 stroke back at 3 under and has the 17th and 18th holes left. I don’t believe that he has teed off on 16 yet, but he only has a par 3 and 2 5 pars left. Elk could win this as well.

Thomas Bjorn, the man who left it in the bunker 2 times on the 16th at Royal St. Georges and gave my boy Ben Curtis the chance to win, also stands at 3 under and has the short par 4 15th and 16-18 left to play. As long as he keeps it out of the sand, his 63 on Saturday proves that he can play.

Then there’s Woods. 2-under, Michael Jordan like determination, but I don’t believe with the rain at Baltusrol last night, he has a chance.

DLIII, he needs to get it going in the last 5 holes that he has left to play. But, I don’t think that he has the guts or courage to look into Phil’s eyes and say that this tournament is his.

Anyways, I’m jealous for all of you who get to sit in front of your TV and watch today’s final round. I’ll be at work, periodically checking the real-time scoring (actually about 3-4 minutes late scoring) for updates.

It should be a great finish!!
