Last day of Q School

The pressure cooker at Q School must be the most difficult ordeal any golfer can face. Why? Well, it’s 5 consecutive rounds of golf, and in the balance hangs your entire livelihood, your ability to play on the PGA and Nationwide tours.

Some known PGA golfers have already bitten the dust, shooting so poorly that they WithDrew. Carlos Franco and Chris Riley are the biggest names. Riley is the same guy who paired with Tiger Woods in the Ryder Cup several years ago (but told Hal Sutton he was too drained to play in the afternoon matches after winning with Tiger in the morning). After an opening round 83 (I could shoot that), Riley dug himself a hole that apparently was too deep.

But then there’s some hope left for tour veteran Paul Stankowski, who shot a 79 on the first day, but has since rebounded with 66, 69, 67, and 71. He stands at -8 and is tied for the last PGA tour spot (Top 30). Besides Paul, I’m also rooting for Duffy Waldorf (-7, T36) and Bob May (-5, T43). But they need to go low today.
