16 year old Tadd Fujikawa stole the limelight from Michelle Wie and over 100 PGA golfers this past week as the Sony. Although Tadd did not win the tourney, he placed 20th with a nonetheless amazing score of 5-under par. It was a magical week for this 5 foot 1 inch wonder from Hawaii. Nick Faldo and Kelly Tilghman joined the hundreds of fans surrounding the 18th hole in giving Tadd a standing ovation. Other tournament directors are already rumored to be considering inviting Tadd on a sponsor’s exemption to their PGA events.

Meanwhile, journeyman Paul Goydos won the tournament, pulling a rabbit out of his hat after Charles Howell III, the leader by 2 after 9, let things slip away on the back nine. Howell was clearly distraught after he failed to make birdie on the par 5th 18th to force a playoff. Howell sunk his face into his hands, thinking of what could and should have been.

Oh, and by the way, The Golf Channel team did a much better job this week. The PGA season is starting to rev up. This week, Phil’s back. Next week, Tiger.
