Phil Mickelson is slimmer but still loses in playoff at FBR
Phil Mickelson was sitting pretty in the clubhouse in Arizona at the FBR, with a 1 shot lead over JB Holmes. Holmes, who was driving the ball over 350 yards, birdied the last hole to force a playoff.
The CBS commentators were all wondering why Phil was sitting in the clubhouse, instead of keeping loose on the range. That commentary proved to be prescient, as Phil ended up hitting a very loose wedge from 130 yards to leave him practically no chance at a birdie. JB Holmes stuffed his sand wedge to 6 feet and won.
I have to give Phil some credit, though, for losing 20 pounds and his man-boobs during the off-season. He looks really great. What will Phil do next?
