Ernie Els shot a final round 67 to make a come-from-behind-win (passing Luke Donald and Mark Calcavechia) and to win his first PGA victory in 4 years.
Ernie was absolutely ecstatic upon learning that he had won while warming up on the driving range for a possible playoff. He thanked his caddie, his mental coach Bob Rotella (who shadowed Ernie on every single hole), his wife, his kids, his family back in South Africa, his supporters. He did forget to thank the Academy, and, yes, God, but Ernie was probably too overwhelmed by the moment.
Great job, Ernie! We hope this means you are now back and can challenge Tiger Woods, at least for a few holes, if not tournaments.
