Let’s see: the rain, the wind, the links courses, the tradition, the mystique. The whole package. But, most of all, it’s great seeing the entire field being tested to the brink. Poor Sandy Lyle was 10 over after 11 holes and then just quit. That’s how bad it is today.

Just flip on the TV right now. The guys are wearing ski hats, rain gear, and almost all over par — way over par. Mickelson’s at +8 after 11 holes! That score is not even the worst!
