The British Open is this week. If you’ve lost interest already, now that Tiger Woods is out, consider the possibilities. Phil sounded pretty confident yesterday discussing his preparation. What if Phil Mickelson wins his first Open this week, followed by a victory at the PGA Championship this fall? Then, assuming that happens, what if Phil wins his 3rd Masters in 2009, giving him 6 majors total before Tiger returns from knee surgery? Is that the best scenario for golf while Tiger Woods is on the mend?

Or would it be better if, instead of Phil, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, or even Anthony Kim rattled off the next three consecutive majors?
