Woke up early to watch the Australian Open final pitting Rafael Nadal (22 years old) against Roger Federer (27 years old). For the past several years, Federer has dominated everyone in tennis … except Nadal. First, Nadal beat Federer at the French Open and kept on beating him each year. But Federer owned the hardcourts and Wimbledon. But last year Nadal beat Federer at Wimbledon in 5 epic sets. And, today, Nadal beat Federer on hardcourts at the Australian Open, again in 5 sets.

Federer is 1 major shy of tying Pete Sampras for the most majors ever at 14. But the way things are looking, that 1 more major will be a major hurdle. Federer looked visibly nervous and rattled today at the pressure moments.

It got me wondering: will Tiger Woods ever face a serious rival who can beat him? or is breaking Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 majors a foregone conclusion? What say you, readers? Can Tiger Woods be so good or so lucky that he goes through his entire career without any rival at all?
