The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass is often touted as the “fifth” major, with one of the strongest fields all season. But the tourney produces some random winners (like Craig Perks) in addition to some of the top flight players. And the 17the hole island green has been criticized by Tiger Woods as too gimmicky for a major-like tournament.
