The New York Times reports new details of what happened right before Erica Blasberg’s death. Her caddie, Missy Pederson, received a text in the middle of the night saying that Erica was pulling out of the tourney coming up (a day away). Pederson didn’t receive the text until the morning, but became worried about Erica given the late night message right before the trip. Erica’s best friend on tour, Irene Cho, revealed that Erica was a little bit down after their last tourney in Mexico: “She was kind of down on herself. She was upset how she played last year. I told her she has so much talent and so much beauty and so many people who love her. I didn’t want her to lose sight of all that.” Erica spoke at a school function during that tourney. See the video below. She appears to be in good spirits in the video.

The Golf Blog says: We don’t want to speculate about Erica Blasberg’s death until the investigation is concluded. But, if our memory is correct, we do seem to recall that Erica tweeted on Twitter last year something about how lonely it can be on tour. She later terminated her account. Some of her tweets can be found by clicking here, but we couldn’t find the “lonely” tweet that we recall.

UPDATE: ABC News has a few more details here.
