The Golf Blog says: The PGA rules official Mark Wilson assessed co-leader Dustin Johnson a 2-shot penalty on the 72nd hole, effectively eliminating him from the playoff with Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer. Hundreds of fans had walked in the bunker and trampled it down with grass.

Poor Dustin Johnson. This may end his career even more so than the final round debacle at Pebble Beach, where he squandered a 5-shot lead. Dustin tried to explain after the round, “I don’t know if I can describe it. Walking up there, seeing the shot, it never once crossed my mind that it was a sand trap.”

That grassy patch and dirt is supposedly a bunker! Boo, PGA of America! Boo, Whistling Straits! What a joke.
