The Golf Blog says: Tiger Woods withdrew after shooting a 6-over 42 after the opening nine. Tiger’s four-time, surgically-repaired left knee–which he re-injured during the Masters–appeared to be bothering him, as did all the bad shots he hit.

If this injury is a chronic problem, Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 majors will be much harder to match or beat. Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser suggested on PTI that this may be the middle of the end for Tiger. His quest to beat Jack’s record is in serious jeopardy. We agree, especially if the knee injury does not get much better in the next month.
