The Golf Blog says: Ryann O’Toole from Big Break Sandals fame was a surprise captain’s pick last week for the U.S. Team at the Solheim Cup. Captain Rosie Jones picked the LPGA rookie over several more seasoned veterans who had higher points:

12 Katie Futcher 133.0
13 Kristy McPherson 130.0
14 Wendy Ward 89.0
15 Pat Hurst 86.5
16 Natalie Gulbis 72.5
17 Stacy Prammanasudh 67.0

This week, Ryann finished tied for last in the entire field at the Canadian Open, shooting +10 over two days and missing the cut. Meanwhile, Futcher, McPherson, Gulbis, and Prammanasudh all made the cut. In fact, Futcher, who was No. 12 in points, is at -8, six shots back. Anyone think Katie is making a statement?
