The Golf Blog says: Tiger Woods has been stuck on 14 majors for nearly 3 years now. And Nick Faldo is calling him out. Faldo says, given Tiger’s mental state following the sex scandal, Tiger won’t surpass Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 majors.

If you look at this Tiger v. Jack chart, Faldo’s prediction seems premature. Tiger and Jack Nicklaus are now even — both had 14 majors at age 35. But Jack didn’t get his 15th major until age 38. That means Tiger has 3 years in which all he has to do is win 2 majors to pull ahead of Jack’s pace.

More than mental state, we think Tiger has two bigger hurdles to overcome: (1) his drastic swing change and (2) his chronic knee injuries. If Tiger can get past both of those, then we think he’ll make another major run.
