The Golf Blog says: Some people still doubt that Tiger Woods deserves to be a captain’s pick by Fred Couples for the U.S. President’s Cup team. Keegan Bradley, for instance, won the PGA Championship and is not (barring an injury to another player) on the U.S. team.

We think, however, Fred Couples did the right thing. The President’s Cup is a made-for-television event. Its main attraction is throwing together a bunch of professional golfers in a team format similar to the Ryder Cup. Having Tiger Woods on the team adds incredible TV viewer interest that no other golfer can add. Even if Tiger plays poorly, that will be a much bigger news story or attraction for the mainstream media than not having Tiger there.

So let’s see what Tiger can do.
