The Golf Blog says: Rory McIlroy ran away with the PGA Championship, leading by 8 shots over his nearest competitors. Ian Poulter put on an early charge getting to 7-under, 1 behind Rory at one point. But Rory kept on his birdie barrage, with 6-under, 66 for the final round.

McIlroy, who is 23 years and 3 months old, made up for a less than stellar year by dominating the entire field on Sunday. McIlroy is slightly behind the pace set by Jack Nicklaus, who won his second major at 23 years, 2 months old. But Rory is ahead of Tiger Woods’s pace (2nd major by 23 years 6 months). Both Jack and Tiger had 3 majors by age 23 years old, so Rory still has the 2013 Masters to keep pace.
