The Golf Blog says: The Europeans did it. They came back from 4 points down at the start of the day, tying the largest ever comeback at the Ryder Cup. It was poetic justice for Captain Jose Maria Olazabal, who was a part of the team that lost to the US team in 1999 at Brookline, when the Americans came back from 4 points down. Olazabal was the guy who watched the US team celebrate Justin Leonard’s putt on the 16th green, even though Ollie had yet to putt. Now, Olazabal was a part of the improbable comeback by his European team.

After the Europeans won many of the early matches, it came down to the last two matches between Steve Stricker/Martin Kaymer, and Tiger Woods/Franceso Molinari. Stricker went 1-down on 17. Things looked over on 18 as both hit the green, but Stricker had a much longer putt, which he left a good 12 feet to the left of the hole. Kaymer made things interesting by running his putt 6 feet by. Stricker made his putt, which put a world of pressure on Kaymer. Kaymer, however, calmly sunk his putt. Click here for the video.

Ryder Cup to the Euros! Wow. What a day!
