The Golf Blog says: Rory McIlroy, it’s a name we no longer hear being discussed. He hasn’t been on the leaderboard much, and he’s missed 2 cuts, had 1 WD, and 1 first round elimination. Yesterday, at the Memorial tourney, Rory shot a 78 and is now tied for 105th. Yes, 105th! It gets worse: he’s 105th out of 120 golfers in the field. If this were a class, Rory would be at the bottom of the curve and likely to receive an F.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Rory McIlroy’s switch to Nike clubs hasn’t gone smoothly. See here for the analysis. Johnny Miller, Nick Faldo, and others correctly predicted that Rory’s change in golf clubs could prove costly this year.

The clubs may not be the only thing bothering Rory’s game, but they certainly haven’t helped Rory score well this year. The stats don’t lie.
